First your team must become knowledgable about the history of the Stock Market. You must prove that you will be capable of accomplishing the monumental task you've been chosen to complete.

3. Discover the identities of the people who began the stock exchange on Wall Street.

Phase 2: Do Your Research!

4. It's time to reveal the mysteries of The Stock Market.

As a team, gather at one computer workstation.

Select one teammember to read aloud the following article titled "The Beginnings".

Note: You may have to scroll down to see the main article.

>Locate and record the names of the men whose work made a great impact on the early economic community in America.

>Identify the source of the following quote:
“ We the Subscribers, Brokers for the Purchase and Sale of the Public Stock, do hereby solemnly promise and pledge ourselves to each other, that we will not buy or sell from this day for any person whatsoever, any kind of Public Stock, at least than one quarter of one percent Commission on the Specie value and that we will give preference to each other in our Negotiations. Homework: Create a picture book that explains the history of The Stock Market. Make sure you include the new vocabulary you have learned. Your picture book must answer the following questions:

Phase 3: Understanding Investing

6. All Teams assemble to share their findings up to this point.

Pay close attention. Here is more important information you will need to complete your assignment and discover the secret to becoming wealthy!

Your team will need to use computer workstations to explore a website that will explain how people, (even kids) can invest in the Stock Market. This website is divided into 6 pages that you will navigate by clicking the arrow at the bottom of each page. Each team member should:

>TAKE ONE OF THE FIRST FIVE PAGES

>TAKE NOTES on important ideas and new vocabulary.

>REPORT back to your team and share your findings.

Create a slideshow using Microsoft PowerPoint that includes stock trader vocabulary,and the questions with answers you think a beginning investor would ask and would want to know. Think about the questions you had before you began learning about trading stocks, and the words you didn't know the meaning of.

6. Your team is about to take on a task that requires your best research skills and cooperation with analysts and brokers all over the world (Yes, literally).
