Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is one of the cornerstones of the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. It is a measure of year-to-year student achievement on statewide assessments.

Gwinnett County Public Schools has developed an accountability system for improving schools called the Results-Based Evaluation System (RBES). RBES fairly and systematically measures a school's progress, providing a process that communicates expectations; reviews, monitors, and supports school performance; and evaluates that performance.
